Former Mumbai pacer Ismail passes away
Mumbai, May 31 -- Renowned former Indian first-class cricketer Abdul Ismail passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest on Friday, aged 79.
A former selector of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), Ismail was known for his mastery of outswing bowling and had earned the nickname 'Sultan of Swing' in the Mumbai maidan circuit.
The pace bowler, who played in 75 first-class matches in a career spanning 10 years from 1969-70 to 1977-78, picked up 244 wickets at an impressive average of 18.04.
