THANE, Oct. 13 -- A fire brigade officer lost his life on Sunday, and his colleague sustained serious burn injuries, after they suffered an electric shock while attempting to rescue a pigeon trapped in overhead electric wires in Diva. The officers were responding to a call regarding a pigeon stuck in the overhead wires belonging to Torrent Power Company. During the rescue operation near Sudama Residency on Diva-Shil Road, the two firefighters accidentally came in contact with a high-tension electric cable and were electrocuted. Utsav Patil, 28 (in pic), lost his life while Azad Patil, 29, sustained burn injuries to his hand and chest. The Thane fire brigade has ordered a probe into the incident. P5...
