MUMBAI, Oct. 24 -- A suspected short circuit on the ninth floor of JMS Business Centre, a commercial building in Jogeshwari west, ignited a fire that turned into an inferno within minutes on Thursday morning. While there were no fatalities or injuries, 27 people had to be rescued from the flames by fire brigade personnel. The fire was extinguished in four hours. According to the BMC, the blaze broke out at 10.46am on the ninth floor. Within two minutes, it was labelled a Level 2 fire and, within the next six minutes, at 10.54 am, it had escalated to a Level 3 fire, the most severe level, reaching the 13th floor, or the top storey.
