Fans gather at bhosle's home to pay respects
MUMBAI, April 13 -- A steady stream of mourners gathered at Casa Grande in Lower Parel, the residence of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, to pay their final respects on Sunday.
Neighbours and well-wishers who arrived to offer condolences described the loss as deeply shocking. One of her former neighbours at Sai Prabhu Building told HT, "She was a gentle soul, she also left the world gently." A family friend added, "It is painful, but we have come to accept it. The songs she has left behind are immortal and they have made her immortal."
Among the many mourners was Shashikanth Yadav, 37, a daily-wage worker, who stood outside the building on a video call with his wife."She has always been her admirer, and the moment she came to know that I am nearby she asked me to show her residence," he said.
Several prominent personalities also paid homage, including composer-singer Vishal Dadlani, actors Saiee Manjrekar and Padmini Kolhapure, and chief minister Devendra Fadnavis....
