Doc's car runs over minor at Wadia hospital, driver booked
MUMBAI, March 7 -- A two-year-old boy was killed at the gate of Wadia Children's Hospital in Parel, when a doctor's car with her driver at the wheel ran over him on Friday. The doctor was not in the car when the accident occurred.
Police said two-year-old Ahmed Raza Amir Khan and his father Amir Khan, 27, were waiting for a relative at the hospital gate, when the car ran over him. The child's five-month-old sister was a patient in the hospital. The family lives in Kurla.
Bhoiwada police said the incident took place at around 10 am. Raza was playing 15 feet away from his father, a fabricator, when the car ran over him. Raza, unconscious and bleeding from the nose and mouth, was taken to the hospital's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where he was administered emergency care. However, he died at around 2 pm, police said.
"Rahul Kamble, who was driving the car, is employed by a female doctor at the hospital," said deputy commissioner of police, Zone IV, R Ragasudha. A case has been registered under section 106 of the BNS, for causing death by negligence. Kamble was allowed to go after being given a notice to appear before the police when summoned....
