Daughter of slain sarpanch scores 85.33% in Science
Pune, May 6 -- During the turmoil following the murder of Beed sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh in December last year, his daughter Vaibhavi Deshmukh remained focussed on her upcoming class 12 board exam. Her perseverance in the face of personal tragedy shone through on Monday, when she scored 85.33% in the Science stream.
"My father would have been proud of my result," she told HT. She appeared for the NEET exam held on Sunday although she was not fully prepared as she was busy helping her uncle Dhananjay Deshmukh pursue justice for her father's gruesome murder. "I demand death penalty for those who murdered my father and arrest of the accused still at large," she said.
Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde congratulated her, saying, "Vaibhavi overcame immense emotional and social challenges to score 85.13%. Her success is more than just academic - it is a symbol of strength, resilience, and hope."
Baramati MP Supriya Sule too praised her, saying, "Her triumph is truly inspirational. Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for her future journey."...
