New Delhi, Oct. 5 -- Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed former chief ministers Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel and former Lok Sabha floor leader of the Congress, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury as senior observers in poll-bound Bihar, for better election management in the key Hindi-belt state. Kharge also appointed 41 district-level election observers in Bihar. A circular signed by Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said that the appointments have been made with immediate effect. "Gehlot and Baghel have rich experiences of running administration and are old hands of the party while Chowdhury led a state unit of the party for a long time in West Bengal, a neighbouring state of Bihar," a senior Congress leader said.
