Cabinet nod to disaster mgmt plan for Konkan
Mumbai, Sept. 16 -- As the coastal districts in Maharashtra were battered with natural calamities over the past two years, the state cabinet on Wednesday cleared a proposal to set up a Rs.3,200-crore Konkan disaster management programme. The special programme - Konkan disaster mitigation project - will take up several measures in the region to safeguard the people in case of any calamity such as cyclone, floods, landslides, etc....
