New Delhi, June 12 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved two multi-tracking projects worth Rs.6,405 crore to improve connectivity and mobility, and generate jobs in Jharkhand, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The projects include the Koderma-Barkakana doubling project, spanning 133 km through a major coal-producing region in Jharkhand. It serves as the shortest rail link between Patna and Ranchi, according to government officials. The second project involves the doubling of the Ballari-Chikjajur line, extending 185 km.
