Kalyan, May 19 -- Chaos prevailed on the Patripool Bridge on Saturday afternoon after a state-transport bus broke down and remained on the middle of the road for around three hours.

This caused a traffic jam, stretching for more than a kilometre from the bridge to Suchak Naka in Dombivli (East).

An Maharashtra State Regional Transport Corporation official said a towing vehicle was sent but it was stuck in the congestion caused by the bus breakdown.

According to traffic police, the bus run by MSRTC broke down on the bridge at noon and was not removed until 3pm. "The bus was going to the railway station and it broke down. The driver remained seated inside and there was no attempt made to move it," said Subhash Patil, 30, a traffic warden o...
