Burglars steal Rs.41-L valuables in Vile parle
MUMBAI, Jan. 21 -- Robbers made away with jewellery and other valuables worth Rs.41 lakh after breaking into a bungalow in Vile Parle East on Tuesday.
According to the police, the incident occurred at Pathare House, a bungalow on Nehru Road, when the couple residing there had stepped out for about 30 minutes. Two masked men broke open the door latch, entered the house and committed the burglary.
When the couple returned home, they found the bungalow ransacked and alerted the police, who reached the spot and registered a case against the unidentified accused. Police said the bungalow did not have CCTV cameras. The footage from nearby cameras showed two masked men heading towards the bungalow around the time of the incident.
"We suspect the accused had kept the house under watch and struck once the residents left. They may also have been aware of the couple's routine and the presence of valuables inside," a police officer said....
