BEST driver booked after bus hits bike, injures 11-year-old boy
Mumbai, Dec. 22 -- A BEST bus driver was booked for injuring an 11-year-old boy in a collision involving a motorcycle on LBS Marg. However, a police officer said, "The motorcycle was being ridden on the wrong side of the road and was carrying three riders at the time of the accident."
According to the Kurla police, the incident occurred when the minor was riding pillion on a two-wheeler with his brother, Shohrab Shaikh, 25, a cloth vendor and resident of Kurla West, and a 10-year-old cousin. A BEST bus took a sudden turn on LBS Marg and brushed against the motorcycle from the left side. The police said the impact injured the minor's right foot and left him with fractures to his toe and a finger. Angry locals then gathered at the spot and damaged the bus.
According to the police, the bus driver, Narayan Pisal, 57, was detained and later booked for rash and negligent driving....
