Dhaka, June 7 -- Bangladesh's interim leader Muhammad Yunus on Friday said that the country will hold national elections in the first half of April 2026. In a televised address to the nation, the Nobel laureate said that the Election Commission would roll out a detailed road map for the polls in due course. "I am announcing to the citizens of the country that the election will be held on any day in the first half of April 2026," said Yunus.
