Mumbai, Aug. 13 -- Eighteen-year-old Ayush Mhatre will lead a star-studded Mumbai side in the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament, to be played in Chennai from August 18 to September 9. Test batter Sarfaraz Khan is part of the team picked by the Sanjay Patil-led MCA senior selection committee. Sarfaraz's younger brother, all-rounder Musheer Khan, who missed most the last domestic season due to injuries suffered in a car accident, is also in the squad. Mhatre made his First-Class debut last season in the Irani Cup. The young opener was impressive in the Ranji Trophy starting with a half-century, against Baroda before smashing 176 against Maharashtra. In nine First-Class games he has scored 504 runs with two hundreds and one half-century. Mhatre dazzled in the IPL when he got a chance with Chennai Super Kings, averaging 34.29 in seven games, scoring at a strike-rate of 188.98. He is captain of the India U-19 team, leading them on the recent tour of England and will also lead India on the tour of Australia starting September 21. In Sunday's Kanga League game, Mhatre smashed 82 off 48 balls for Sainath Sports Club against Dadar Union Sporting Club during a B Division clash.
