Asked to get hair cut, Hry boys stab principal to death
Rohtak, July 11 -- The principal of a private school was stabbed to death allegedly by two students in Hisar district of Haryana on Thursday after he asked them to get a haircut, dress properly, and follow discipline, officers aware of the matter said.
According to police, the two boys-aged 15 and 16-were enrolled in Class 11 and 12 of the Kartar Memorial Senior Secondary, located in Bass village in the district's Hansi area, around 26km from the district headquarters. They attacked 50-year-old school principal Jagbir Pannu, a resident of Puthi Saman village, with knives when he was doing the rounds in the morning, they added.
"The boys were miffed over repeated reprimands by the principal over their indiscipline. They were angry as he regularly asked them to trim their hair and tuck in their shirts. Pannu suffered multiple stab wounds in the attack. We have recovered a foldable knife from the school premises," Hansi Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Yashvardhan said. Pannun was rushed to a private hospital but died of his injuries, police added.
The two students ran away after the attack and remain at large. "We have identified the attackers, and four teams have been formed to apprehend them. We have accessed the CCTV footage in which the accused can be seen running from the spot after attacking the principal," he said, adding that police have lodged a murder case against the accused.
A teacher said that the two boys were regularly pulled up for their behaviour and the principal had reprimanded them two weeks ago.
"The students' behaviour was not good. They used to argued with teachers and get into quarrels with other students. Their academic record was also not good," the teacher said on condition of anonymity.
Police officers said that the deceased and the accused were from the same village....
