Kochi, Aug. 21 -- Health officials in the two Kerala districts of Kozhikode and Malappuram have asked the public to be cautious and steer clear of stagnant water bodies following a recent death and two active cases of primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) caused by 'brain-eating' amoeba. While a nine-year-old girl from Thamarassery in Kozhikode succumbed to the rare infection at the Kozhikode Government Medical College hospital (GMCH) on August 14 after being referred from a local clinic, two others also from the same district -- a three-month-old infant and a 49-year-old man -- are under treatment after their fluid samples tested positive for PAM....
