MUMBAI, Dec. 1 -- Rajesh Aggarwal, a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, assumed charge as Maharashtra's new chief secretary on Sunday, succeeding Rajesh Kumar, who retired the same day after a three-month extension beyond his scheduled retirement on August 30.
