Pune, Dec. 14 -- Nearly 90% of IndiGo's flight operations have stabilised and are running as scheduled, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol said on Saturday. Speaking to reporters during the inauguration of the Pune Book Festival at Fergusson College, Mohol said flight services across the country were being restored in phases following recent disruptions. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken note of the situation and has sought an explanation from IndiGo. Around 90% of the airline's operations are now back to normal," he said. Earlier this month, IndiGo had cancelled a large number of flights nationwide after failing to adequately prepare for stricter safety norms, with the highest number of cancellations reported on December 5. The situation began to improve subsequently. Mohol added that the ministry would form a four-member committee to determine accountability for the disruptions. "Passengers have faced inconvenience and financial losses, and the ministry is initiating immediate corrective measures," he said. On the Pune Book Festival, Mohol said the event has significantly contributed to the city's cultural profile and highlighted steps being taken to encourage reading habits and strengthen the reading culture among citizens.
