MUMBAI, Dec. 6 -- A 68-year-old woman in Jogeshwari was found strangled in her apartment on Thursday night. The police have registered a case of murder against unknown persons and are looking through CCTV footage to identify potential suspects in the case. According to the Meghawadi police, the deceased has been identified as Havabi Dalavi, a homemaker who lived alone in the Jhula Maidan area of Jogeshwari East. Dalavi has two daughters, one lives in Ratnagiri and the other in Pune. Around 11:00pm on Thursday, neighbours found the victim's body and informed the police. When they reached the spot, the police found a rope tied around her neck and marks that indicated that she had been strangled with the rope. The body was then sent to the Trauma Care Centre in Jogeshwari for a post-mortem. The Meghwadi police have registered an FIR against an unidentified individual under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police added that they are scanning CCTV footage from the area to find out who visited the woman before the murder. The police are yet to release further details about the woman....
