66-yr-old dead as cab rams into divider
MUMBAI, Dec. 24 -- A senior citizen travelling to Wadala, died after her cab crashed into the divider on Western Express Highway in Borivali on Monday evening.
According to the police, Jesintha D'Souza, a 66-year-old homemaker from Vasai, booked a cab to Wadala to visit her son. When the cab reached Magathane on Western Express Highway, the car collided with a road divider at high speed, leaving D'Souza with severe head injuries. The police said that the driver was reportedly speeding and lost control of the vehicle.
A passerby alerted her son and rushed her to Shri Sai Hospital in Kandivali, where she died while undergoing treatment.
The driver has been booked for rash and negligent driving.
"The driver fled the scene after the incident and switched off his mobile phone. We are getting in touch with the company that provided the cab to get more details," said a police officer....
