5.1% jobless rate in april, nso says in 1st monthly labour data set
New Delhi, May 16 -- India's unemployment rate stood at 5.1% in April, the National Statistics Office (NSO) said on Thursday in its first ever monthly data on labour market indicators.
These monthly numbers will come with a lag of about two weeks from the month of reporting, which is almost the same as India's inflation numbers.
This makes them a useful input in economic policy making, especially monetary policy, filling an important statistical vacuum. P12...
