3 injured in gas cylinder blast in Goregaon W
Mumbai, Dec. 11 -- Three people were injured after a gas cylinder exploded inside a chawl in Goregaon West on Wednesday morning, causing portions of two ground-floor rooms to collapse. Residents managed to extinguish the fire using buckets of water before the fire brigade arrived.
According to civic officials, the blast occurred around 7.40 am at Rajaram Chawl in Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar-2. The explosion caused the partial collapse of walls in rooms 180 and 181 on the ground floor of the complex. Firefighters arrived at the spot and disconnected the electricity supply to prevent further hazards. The blaze remained confined to plastic items and household materials inside the rooms.
Among the injured, Maltidevi, 28, suffered 30-35% burns. She was initially treated at HBT Trauma Care Hospital and later shifted to Sion Hospital. Two others, Sarjan Ali Javed Shaikh, 37, and Gul Mohammad Amin Shaikh, 38, were admitted to Ganesh Hospital, Borivali. While Sarjan sustained injuries to both legs and is stable, Gul Mohammad suffered severe back injuries and remains in critical condition....
