15% water cut in 17 wards on December 8-9
MUMBAI, Dec. 4 -- As many as 17 civic wards in the city will experience a 15% water cut next week, as the civic body replaces the Tansa water main pipeline supplying water to Bhandup treatment plant.
The water cut will take effect from 10am on December 8 to 10am December 9.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is replacing the 2,750-mm diameter Tansa pipeline, which carries water from the Tansa Dam to the Bhandup water purification plant.
The ageing pipeline will be replaced with a new one, a process that will take roughly 24 hours. The water cut will be experienced in A ward in Colaba-Cuffe Parade, C ward in Marine Lines, D ward in Malabar Hill, G South ward in Worli and G North ward in Dadar-Mahim in the island city.
In the western suburbs, there will be a water cut in H East ward and H West ward in Bandra/Khar/ Santacruz, K East ward in Andheri-Vile Parle-Jogeshwari east, K West ward in Andheri-Juhu-Versova, P South in Goregaon, P North in Malad, R South in Kandivali, R North in Dahisar and R Central in Borivali....
