13 years on the run, murderer held in Nagpur
Navi Mumbai, Aug. 2 -- A 36-year-old man was arrested in Nagpur on Thursday for allegedly killing a Rabale resident in 2012 for refusing to return Rs.25,000 that the accused had lent to him.
The case dates back to October 2012 when Bhavankhan Yadav, 50, was found stabbed to death in the MIDC area. Following this, a murder case was registered. "The case was closed in 2013 when the accused could not be traced," said assistant commissioner of police Ajay Landge. "Two months ago, police commissioner Milind Bharambe issued a directive to reopen unresolved cases, after which a fresh probe was undertaken."
The location of the accused, Chhatu Markat Yadav, was traced to a labour camp in Nagpur, from where he was arrested.
