MUMBAI, June 17 -- A 21-year-old man died after a JCB travelling on the wrong side hit his two-wheeler on Sunday. The unidentified JCB driver, who fled the scene after the incident, has been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. According to the police, the deceased, Ravikant Singh Lodhi and the pillion rider, Abhay Gupta, 19, were childhood friends and resided in Mankhurd with their families. The incident occurred in Mohit Patil Nagar on Sunday afternoon when Lodhi and Gupta were returning home from Baiganwadi, where they had gone for some work. The JCB, coming from the opposite direction and on the wrong side of the road, hit their bike. Lodhi suffered major injuries on the left side of his face and other parts of his body while Gupta fell away after the hit and sustained minor injuries . The accused fled the scene after the incident, said a police officer. Gupta, along with his friends, whom he had called for help, rushed Lodhi to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar for treatment. Gupta was discharged after being given first aid while Lodhi succumbed to his injuries on Monday....
