Mumbai, July 19 -- Subhash Gangaware, 33, who owns three shanties at Bharat Nagar, Chembur, resides in Govandi. On Saturday, one of his tenants had invited him for dinner. Soon, it started raining heavily and he couldn't return home. Around 12.30am, he heard a blaring noise and rushed out to see the shanties washed away by water. "I jumped into the water and was able to successfully pull out two children. But I will never forget the faces of those who lost their lives in front of our eyes. I haven't slept the whole night," he said. Locals claimed that short circuit delayed rescue operation which could have helped save more lives. "Due to the accident, the electric wires got short circuit and the water absorbed the electrical current. Anyone who touched the water, got electrocuted. So, we couldn't even help save lives." rupsa chakraborty...
