India, Feb. 15 -- India conveyed its concerns about the situation in Bangladesh to the US administration at the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump against the backdrop of frosty ties between New Delhi and Dhaka. When asked about speculation over a possible role of the US "deep state" in the protests that led to the downfall of the Awami League government, Trump said, "Well, there was no role for our deep state. This is something that the Prime Minister has been working on for a long time, and has been worked on for hundreds of years, frankly....I've been reading about it but I will leave Bangladesh to the Prime Minister."
