Srinagar, Oct. 20 -- The prospective resumption of talks between the Centre and Ladakh representatives has sparked a mix of hope and circumspection in the Union Territory. "We are hopeful of its outcome and that is why we are going to Delhi for the talks. There is hope that something positive will come out of this," Chering Dorjay Lakruk, co-chairperson of the Ladakh Apex Body (LAB) said. Gitanjali Angmo, the wife of activist Sonam Wangchuk who was held in connection with the September 24 violence, welcomed the resumption of talks but emphasised the need for concrete outcomes. "We want a meaningful dialogue on statehood, the Sixth Schedule, justice for Sonam Wangchuk, and a fair judicial inquiry into killings. The talks are a positive move, but these have to yield results," she said.P12...
