'IPL of chess' kicks off in city today
Mumbai, Dec. 14 -- The Royal Opera House, the city's cultural heritage, will turn into a stage for some of the world's top chess players over the next 10 days as the Global Chess League (GCL) comes to India for the first time.
The third season of GCL begins on Sunday with six teams featuring Indian stars D Gukesh, R Praggnanandhaa, Arjun Erigaisi and Viswanathan Anand, among others, as well as some of the top foreign players.
