Mumbai, May 15 -- A group of teachers from the state's aided and vernacularmedium schools appealed to the state government on Monday to come up with a centralised admission process (CAP) for school admissions, owing to the struggle to find new students when forced to compete with English-medium schools.

In a letter to the state education department, Shikshak Parishad, a group of teachers in the state, suggested conducting admissions for Class 1, 5 and 8 through a common portal.
