Mumbai, Nov. 6 -- Alleging that the killing of tigress T1 aka Avni in Yavatmal on Friday was in violation of six Acts, a city-based animal welfare group has requested the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct a probe into the shooting.

Pawan Sharma, president of the group, Resqink Association of Wildlife Welfare, who is also a wildlife warden from Thane, has also written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the chairperson of National Board for Wildlife and other central government bodies.
