PRAYAGRAJ, July 15 -- Nearly a dozen people allegedly attacked a youth of a particular community waiting for his girlfriend in a hotel room located at Bhangwa Chungi in Pratapgarh on Monday afternoon, police said. The attackers, who were from the woman's side, continued assaulting the youth until he fell unconscious, they added. On receiving information, his family members took him to medical college from where doctors referred him to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj, said CO (city) Shivnarayan Vaish. As per reports, Maqsood (22), resident of Gopalpur in Pratapgarh, reached the hotel located near Bhangwa Chungi on Monday afternoon at around 2pm. He had booked a room through hotel manager Suhaan Khan and was waiting inside the room for his girlfriend who lives in Kohraur when he was allegedly attacked. The woman's family claimed that their daughter's marriage had been fixed and the youth was blackmailing her. In this regard, a complaint was also submitted in the office of SP, Pratapgarh, on Monday, the woman's family claimed. They also accused the youth of raping their daughter in the past, police said. No case was lodged in connection with the incident till the time of going to the press. htc...
