Youth's body recovered from well, two held
Agra, July 3 -- Two youths have been arrested after the body of a 20-year-old man was recovered from a well in the Sahpau area of Hathras on Tuesday. A dispute over money is believed to be the reason behind the murder. The victim had been missing since June 27 from the Sultanganj area in Agra. "Devendra Singh, a resident of Sultanganj Pulia, had reported his son Kunal missing on June 28. He was last seen on June 27 with his friend Shivam," said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Vinayak Bhosle.
ACP Bhosle said the accused - Shivam and Dolly, both in their twenties - have been arrested. A case has been registered at Hari Parvat police station, and the duo will be produced in court on Thursday.
"There was a dispute over money. Shivam had planned the murder and took Kunal on his motorcycle on June 27. After consuming alcohol, Shivam and Dolly brutally beat Kunal and dumped his body in a dry well in Sahpau," said the ACP.
The decomposed body was recovered on Tuesday and sent for post-mortem before being handed over to the family.
The autopsy revealed that Kunal died due to a heavy blow to the head. Angry over the delay in recovering the body, family members staged a road blockade in Agra on Tuesday evening.
