GORAKHPUR, Jan. 4 -- An unidentified young man was killed after being struck and run over by a goods train on a railway bridge over the Gandak river in Kushinagar district on Friday evening. Police said the incident occurred around 7 pm near Paniyahwa railway station on the Gorakhpur-Narkatiaganj section under Khadda police station limits. The train, heading towards Bihar, hit the man on the bridge and dragged him for some distance, killing him on the spot. Station House Officer Girijesh Upadhyay said the body was recovered from the bridge and sent for post-mortem. The deceased is yet to be identified. Police are verifying local claims that two youths were on the bridge at the time, as no personal belongings were found near the track....
