LUCKNOW, May 12 -- A 20-year-old youth drowned in the swimming pool of Marino Water Park in Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) area of Lucknow on Saturday evening even as the kin of the deceased alleged laxity on the part of water park management and police in the incident. Confirming the death, BKT station house officer (SHO) Sanjay Kumar Singh said, "Necessary legal action will be taken after we receive a formal complaint in connection with the incident." Sunny Rathore, a resident of Lakkadmandi in Saadatganj area, had visited the park near Chandrika Devi temple in Kathwara village along with his friends. As per reports, he entered the deep end of the swimming pool despite being warned by an on-duty security guard. His friends claimed that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time. Soon after entering the deep waters, Sunny began drowning. Others present there alerted the guard, who, along with others, pulled him out. Reports said, bystanders attempted to revive him before rushing him to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, his family alleged that the BKT police misled them for nearly two hours after the incident. "They kept shifting their narrative first saying it was a minor accident, then something else entirely. We were left in the dark for hours," claimed a family member of the deceased. "The police took him to a private hospital without informing us, even before confirming his death. We lost critical time," the kin of the deceased further alleged....
