Young man killed in busy market
Prayagraj, Dec. 2 -- A young man was shot and killed on Monday evening on the road near the weekly market in Udayanpur village under Sangipur police station area of Pratapgarh.
Mohammed Taskeel (24), resident of Udharanpur Devapur, under the Lalganj police station area of Pratapgarh, drove a truck in Delhi. Ayan, a resident of Asanv village in Sangipur, also drove a truck there. Both had returned home in November. They met at the market in Kamayanpur village, Sangipur, around 5 pm on Monday evening.
Suddenly people heard a gunshot and rushed to the spot where they found Taskeel lying in a pool of blood. It is alleged that Ayan, who was accompanying him, shot him below the left shoulder and then entered the nearby house of Vinod Soni and went to the rooftop.
On receiving information, SHO of Sangipur police station Rajendra Tripathi arrived at the scene and sent Taskeel to Lalganj Trauma Centre.
He also detained the accused, Ayan, who was on the rooftop of Vinod's house.
According to locals, Ayan told the police that Mohammad Taskeel had beaten him in Delhi, which is why he killed him.
ASP (West) Vrijnandan Rai said that a young man from Lalganj was shot dead in Kamayanpur market of Sangipur. The accused has been detained and further action is being taken, he said....
