GORAKHPUR, July 24 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath performed Rudrabhishek at the ancient Mansarovar Temple in Gorakhpur and offered prayers to Lord Shiva on the occasion of Sawan Shivratri on Wednesday. The ceremony was led by Vedic priests of the Gorakhnath Temple, who chanted mantras throughout the ritual. It concluded with a havan and aarti, performed in the presence of chief priest Yogi Kamalnath, MP Ravi Kishan, mayor Dr Manglesh Srivastava, MLA Vipin Singh, and MLC Dr Dharmendra Singh.Meanwhile, following the directive of the chief minister, flower petals were showered from a helicopter on prominent Lord Shiva temples in Gorakhpur and Sant Kabir Nagar districts to mark Sawan Shivratri. The government's initiative was part of a broader gesture to honour the devotion of Kanwariyas and Shiva devotees during this holy month.In Gorakhpur, the flower shower covered major temples, including Gorakhnath Temple, the ancient Mansarovar Temple, Mukteshwar Nath Temple, Jharkhandi Mahadev Temple, Munjeshwar Nath Temple in Bhauvapar, and Moteshwar Shiva Temple in Pipraich.
