Yogi govt ensures smooth fertiliser supply for Kharif season
LUCKNOW, July 10 -- The Yogi Adityanath government has taken strong steps to ensure a smooth and steady supply of fertilisers, including urea, DAP, and NPK, for farmers during the Kharif season. On July 8 alone, over 32,700 metric tonnes of urea and 6,566 metric tonnes of DAP were distributed across Uttar Pradesh.
According to officials, more than 14.59 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 5.63 lakh metric tonnes of phosphatic fertilisers are already stocked in district warehouses and retail centres. To stop overpricing and black marketing, the government has issued strict orders and set up a special helpline - 0522-2209650 - where people can report any complaints.A government spokesperson said, "Strict action will be taken immediately against anyone found violating the rules." Farmers have also been advised not to store fertilisers unnecessarily for crops like potatoes and mustard, as enough stock is already available in the state.This year, paddy transplantation is planned on 65 lakh hectares of land in Uttar Pradesh. So far, work on 30.95 lakh hectares - about 48% of the total target - has been completed. Meanwhile, the sowing of maize, pulses, oilseeds, and millets is also going on steadily....
