yogi, Kashiites lead grand welcome for PM modi
VARANASI, Sept. 12 -- Ahead of a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was warmly received by governor Anandiben Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi, on Thursday.
From the airport, the Prime Minister travelled by helicopter to the police line. His convoy, en route to a city hotel, was greeted by BJP workers and residents with conches, drums, and showers of flowers. PM Modi acknowledged the crowds with waves, while cultural programs and performances along the route added to the celebratory atmosphere.
The route from the police line to the hotel was decorated, with several stages where officials and public representatives showered rose petals on PM Modi.
Folk dances and other cultural programs were held at Kachheri, Ambedkar Square, and other locations, creating a road-show-like scene. Residents lined both sides of the road to greet him, and the Prime Minister waved in acknowledgement of their welcome....
