Agra, July 20 -- Some women opposed the proposed Banke Behari Corridor during energy minister AK Sharma's visit to the Banke Behari temple in Vrindavan on Saturday. The minister, however, favoured the corridor and stated that the government was taking up the development work in the interest of the masses. The women from the Goswami family lodged their protest by pulling down the curtain in front of the idol at the temple and not offering 'prasad' to the minister. Later, five women on protest were allowed to meet the minister. "We peacefully offered the memorandum to the minister, but he did not receive it. The police accompanying the minister pushed us aside" complained a woman opposing the proposed corridor. "There was a protest lodged by a few individuals during my visit to the temple, but one has to understand that the government takes up a development project in the larger interest of the masses," the minister stated justifying the corridor....
