PRAYAGRAJ, April 7 -- A 32-year-old woman was found unconscious and injured after being stabbed near her village in Pratapgarh on Monday morning. The incident occurred in Sarkhelpur Sonahi village under Dilipur police station area. Villagers found her lying about 1.5 km from her home while taking goats out to graze. The injured woman, Afsari Bano, was taken to Baba Belkharnath Dham Community Health Centre and later referred to a medical college. After regaining consciousness, she told police that she had left her house around 9 pm on Sunday to go to her in-laws' village, Kaserua. She alleged that four masked youths stopped her and attacked her with knives. Police said she could not identify the attackers as their faces were covered. Afsari Bano had been living at her parental home for the past two years after a dispute with her husband, who later remarried. Locals said she had been living with a man from her village. SHO Balram Singh said the case is under investigation and no arrests have been made so far. The body of an 18-year-old woman was found hanging from a tree near the Sasur Khaderi River, close to Chak Sahabuddinpur village in Kaushambi district, under the Charwa police station area, on Sunday evening. The victim's family has alleged that she was murdered and her body was hung to make it appear as a case of suicide. According to the mother, a resident of Chak Sahabuddinpur village under Karari police station limits, her daughter had gone towards the river in the evening but did not return. Villagers then chanced upon the body hanging from a tree and informed the family. Senior police officials, including SP Satyanarayan Prajapat, ASP Rajesh Singh, and CO Abhishek Singh, reached the spot along with police teams from Charwa and Karari stations. The body was taken into custody by Charwa police and sent for a post-mortem examination. The family alleged that a dispute earlier in the day triggered the crime. They claimed their buffalo had entered a villager's wheat field, after which the accused tied the animal and demanded compensation, verbally abusing the family. The mother alleged that following this dispute, seven villagers strangled her daughter to death and later hung the body to mislead the investigation....
