Jhansi, May 4 -- In a chilling case from 2020 in which a 29-year-old woman had killed both her infant daughters by strangling them in Jalaun district, the special district EC Act court judge Bhartendra Singh sentenced the woman to life along with a fine of Rs 20,000, on Saturday. As per district government counsel, crime, Lakhan Lal Niranjan, the incident took place on August 28, 2020 in village Chirakali, falling under police station Kotra of the district. While Mahendra Singh, had gone to rear cattle and his mother Guddi Devi had gone to the farm, his wife, Pratima, was alone in the house along with her daughters Mahi 4 years and 10-month-old Roshni. When Guddi Devi returned, she found the doors locked and despite repeated efforts could not get them open. When she jumped into the house from the neighbouring terrace, she was shocked to see both the girls lying dead, with Pratima sitting in an uncomprehending state. Later, Pratima confessed to killing both the girls though the reason behind it is still unknown. A case was lodged against her under section 302 IPC....
