PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 23 -- Thieves stole the handbag of a woman travelling on the DD Upadhyay-Charlapalli special train. The bag contained Rs.1 lakh in cash and four ATM cards. The victim initially lodged a complaint at the Secunderabad Railway Police Station, from where the case was transferred to the Prayagraj GRP, as the incident occurred within the Prayagraj jurisdiction. According to the FIR, Voleti Nagalakshmi, a resident of Boduppal, Andhra Pradesh, was travelling with four family members from DD Upadhyay to Charlapalli in train number 07008 last month. All were booked in the AC coach. The bag was stolen during the night, and the theft came to light when the train reached Prayagraj. The Prayagraj GRP is investigating the case. A man committed suicide allegedly because of his wife's illicit affair with a young man living near her parents' home. Based on the complaint filed by the deceased's mother, the police have filed a case and launched a search for the accused wife, her lover and her father. As per reports, the Kaushambi resident committed suicide by hanging himself inside his home on November 19. After the cremation, on Friday, his mother filed a complaint with the police, stating that her daughter-in-law was having an affair with a resident near her maternal home. She, along with her lover, used to threaten to kill her son, the complainant said. A doctor was attacked in his chamber at Nazareth Hospital on Saturday afternoon. After the assault, the attacker attempted to strangle him. Security personnel arrived at the scene to rescue the doctor. It is alleged that the attackers also assaulted and mistreated a female patient and a nurse present in the chamber. The doctor has filed a complaint with the Civil Lines police station. A young man of Chitrakoot allegedly brutalised a young woman from the Saini area of Kaushambi after giving her a drugged cold drink in a hotel. The accused took her to a hotel in Prayagraj, threatening to block her from appearing in an exam. He filmed the sexual assault. Later, he threatened to circulate the video and repeatedly harassed her. Based on the victim's complaint, the police have filed a case and begun searching for the accused. The young woman from the Saini area stated in her complaint that she is a student at Bhagwati Prasad Daulatram College in Sirathu. According to the victim, about three months ago, Anmol Dwivedi, a resident of Rajapur in the neighboring district of Chitrakoot, contacted her via Instagram and threatened to stop her from appearing in the exam. Terrified, the victim called the accused, who then asked her to come to Sirathu Railway Station from where he allegedly took her to Prayagraj by Intercity train. He booked a hotel room there and after giving her a drugged cold drink, he brutally assaulted her. He also filmed the incident. When the accused repeatedly threatened to make the video viral on social media, the victim narrated her ordeal to her family. On Friday, she filed a complaint with the police after which the police launched a search for him....
