Prayagraj, May 8 -- The body of a 26-year-old married woman was found hanging inside her house under Jethwara police station limits in Pratapgarh on Thursday morning, police said. The woman, a resident of Mandhata Nagar Panchayat, had been married for five years and is survived by a three-year-old daughter. Police said family members found the body hanging inside a locked room around 7 am and informed the police. The body was sent for post-mortem examination. The deceased's father alleged that her husband assaulted her and pressured her to bring Rs 1.5 lakh from her parental home. He also accused the husband of murdering her and hanging the body to make it appear as suicide.
