LUCKNOW, May 6 -- The body of a 30-year-old woman was found near Puranpur village in Mohanlalganj area-around 1.5 km from her residence-on Monday evening, police said. "The incident came to light around 6:30pm after which police and kin of the deceased rushed to the spot. The woman's family identified the body as that of Savita Devi, a resident of Dadayin Sarathua village and wife of one Sanjay," said additional deputy commissioner of police (south) Amit Kumawat. The woman's family accused her husband, who is at large, of killing her. "Preliminary investigation suggests that she was first hit with a brick and then strangled," said the officer. There were deep injury marks on the head and neck of the body, police said. The couple have two children. Sanjay worked as a shuttering labourer. htc...
