Woman poisons son, daughter before dying by suicide, in-laws booked
Meerut, Jan. 17 -- A 30-year-old woman allegedly poisoned her son and daughter before committing suicide by consuming the toxic substance following a dispute in family, in Baliyakhedi village under the Gagalheri police station area on Thursday night.
The police have registered an FIR against her four in-laws.
According to police and eyewitness accounts, the woman took her children a short distance away from her house, near a temple, where she allegedly administered poison to them before consuming it herself. Soon after, all three began to show severe symptoms, including frothing at the mouth, and collapsed unconscious. Passersby who noticed their condition immediately alerted the police and family members.
Police rushed to the spot and shifted the mother and children to a private hospital by ambulance. Despite medical efforts, the woman and her daughter died around midnight, while the four-year-old boy succumbed around 2 am during treatment.
Based on a complaint lodged by the woman's family, an FIR has been registered against her mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law for harassment and abetment to suicide.
The woman was married nine years ago, and her husband works in a private job in Roorkee. Neighbours stated that on Thursday night, she had an argument with her in-laws over some issue and then she went to a nearby temple with her kids from where she made a phone call to her husband and told him that she was going to end her life along with the children by consuming poison..
The woman's maternal family has alleged that she was subjected to continuous harassment by her in-laws. The woman's brother has accused the in-laws of mentally and physically torturing her over minor issues.
SP City Vyom Bindal said police received information through Dial 112 about a woman consuming poison along with her children....
