PRAYAGRAJ, April 29 -- A woman was found murdered in her house under Paschim Sharira police station limits in Kaushambi district on Sunday night. According to reports, her family claimed that she was raped and then murdered. Even as police were probing the incident, the woman's father claimed to have found the body in her room that was locked from inside the next morning. The police, for now, have registered a case of murder (section 103 (1) of the BNS) after a complaint was filed by the father. As per reports, the woman, aged 25 years, was the daughter of one Shambhu Nath, a farmer in Koluha village in the district. After dinner on Sunday night, Shambhu's youngest daughter, who was found dead, slept in her room located opposite the main entrance of the house. As she neither came out of her room nor responded to the knocks on the door, Shambhu Nath claimed that he climbed the terrace through his neighbour's house and saw his daughter lying in a pool of blood. Her hands and face had injury marks, and her throat was slit. Paschim Sharira station house officer (SHO) Triloki Nath Pandey said the girl was attacked by a sharp weapon as one of her hands had cut marks at several places; her throat was slit. "The suspicion of rape and murder cannot be ruled out but anything concrete could be said only after receipt the postmortem," he added....
