PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 20 -- Unidentified assailants attacked a woman sleeping outside her home with a sharp-edged weapon resulting in serious head injury on Thursday night. She died on the way to the hospital. The incident occurred in Ahiapur village under Phulpur police station area in Prayagraj. On receiving information, police arrived at the scene of the incident and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Family members of the deceased have filed a complaint against unknown persons. The deceased has been identified as Sushila.As per reports, Rajendra Kumar Bharatiya, resident of Ahiapur village under Phulpur police station, is differently abled. His wife Sushila, 47, used to work as a peon in a private school in Dhakori village. Due to the presence of snakes in the area, the woman used to sleep on a cot in the verandah of the house. As usual on Thursday night also, she slept on a cot outside the house under a mosquito net. She was found seriously injured and unconscious in the morning.
