Woman killed, Driver critical in two separate road mishaps in Prayagraj
Prayagraj, Nov. 19 -- Two separate road accidents in Prayagraj on Monday left a woman dead and a young man sustained injuries. In the first incident in Manda, a private bus ran over a woman riding pillion on a motorcycle. The victim, Nanki Devi,51, was travelling with her son, Akhilesh Kumar, when the bus hit their motorcycle from behind near Dhari village on the Bharari Lalganj road. The impact threw her onto the road, where she came under the bus's wheels and died on the spot.
Police took her body for a post-mortem examination at SRN Hospital. The bus has been seized, and officers are searching for the driver, who fled after the accident. A case has been filed at Manda police station.
In the second accident, a 21-year-old pick-up driver, Amresh Yadav, also known as Chhotu, was injured near Kanti village under Ghoorpur police station limits. He was changing a punctured tyre around 2 am when a truck from Rewa grazed his vehicle. The pick-up overturned and fell on him, crushing one of his legs.
