LUCKNOW, Nov. 8 -- Police suspected that a woman was murdered after her mutilated body was found wrapped in a sheet by a roadside in the Jankipuram area on Friday morning, they said. The woman's face was badly disfigured, her body bore multiple injuries, and her clothes were torn, indicating possible physical assault before death, police added. The body was near Ajanharkalan village. Deputy commissioner of police (North) North Gopal Krishan Chaudhary said the woman appeared to be around 30 years old. "Initial findings suggest she was murdered elsewhere and her body was dumped here," the DCP said. The body has been sent to the mortuary. Police were checking missing persons' reports from nearby police stations to ascertain her identity. . Officers have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
